A total of 700 small and marginal farmers in Sadar upazila of the district were given seeds and fertilizers free of cost under the agricultural incentive and rehabilitation program for the cultivation of Aman paddy in the current Kharif season. To increase the interest of farmers in Aman paddy, the amount of incentive support has been increased significantly in the district, Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) said.
Upazila Chairman Advocate Abdur Rashid distributed the incentive among the farmers as the chief guest at a function held at the upazila parishad premises Monday morning with Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sadia Zerin in the chair.
