A cow-shed was demolished and fire was set on a heap of paddy-straws belonging to Haidar Shaik, a poor farmer of village Madhya Kachubunia within Ramchandrapur Union under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district on Tuesday morning by a gang of miscreants out of previous enmity with him, according to a report received here. Police of the local police outpost visited the place of occurrence.
The affected farmer told that taking the opportunity of his absence from the house some 10/12 miscreants led by his opponents Raju Shaikh and Shamim Shaikh, sons of one late Abdus Sattar of the same village attacked his house all on a sudden in the morning, demolished his cow-shed and set fire on a heap of paddy straws (used as fodder for cows) out previous enmity with him over the land properties and the after threatening his wife and daughter-in-law and rebuked them in filthy language and left the place. As a result, he lost properties worth Tk.80 thousand. In this connection a preparation is going on to lodge a case with Morrelganj PS.
Md. Sayeedur Rahman, Officer-in-charge of Morrelganj PS told, I have heard the matter and legal action will be taken after receiving the complaint in this connection.
