A function on successful issues achieved by the persons with disabilities was held on the premises of Ghuridaha Union of Saghata upazila of the district on Monday.
SKS Foundation, a Gaibandha based non-government organization (NGO), arranged the function under Pathways to Prosperity for Extremely Poor people (PPEPP) project funded by the European Union (EU).
The objective of the function is to focus the successful events of the persons with disabilities so that they can be inspired to do such the events for the society. A concluding ceremony was also held in the afternoon with local union parishad chairman Selim Ahmed Tulip in the chair.
Panel chairman Abu Raihan, technical officer (Nutrition) of the organization Firoz Mahmud and technical officer (Community-Mobilization) Nazrul Islam spoke at the function among others.
The speakers said like the common people, the persons with disabilities could be succeeded in different issues and contribute much to the overall development of the society if they are given inspiration.
In the function, a section of the persons with disabilities described their successful stories in phases for the participants elaborately.
