The government on Thursday announced an increase in the retail price of bottled soybean oil, setting it at Tk 167 per liter, up from the previous price of Tk 163 per liter.
This adjustment comes as a result of the expiration of a duty facility and a rise in international soybean oil prices,” stated State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu.
Consequently, the retail price for five-liter bottles of soybean oil has been adjusted to Tk 818, up from Tk 800 previously. However, in a contrasting move, the government has reduced the price of loose soybean oil by Tk 2, fixing it at Tk 147 per liter, and set the price of loose super palm oil at Tk 135 per liter.
These revised prices were disclosed during a press conference held at the commerce ministry in Dhaka on Thursday.
