A local health clinic namely Unicare has been sealed for allegedly performing a cesarean operation admitted to the Upazila Health Complex. The incident occurred in Bhangura upazila of Pabna on Sunday (December 31). It is reported that a pregnant mother named Mitu Khatun (22) was admitted to Bhangura Upazila Health Complex with labour pains at eight o’clock last Saturday night. As the operation was not arranged even on Sunday morning, the patient’s guardian took him to the Unicare Clinic in Saratnagar Bazaar of the upazila. The resident doctor of the clinic Dr. Sohail performed her cesarean section at nine in the morning. However, it was alleged that no anesthesia doctor was present there. Resident Medical Officer of Bhangura Health Complex, Dr. Alamin said, Unicare’s surgeon performed caesarean operation without anesthesia doctor.
which is completely illegal and risky. Therefore, the clinic was sealed for a month on Sunday and all the patients admitted there were brought to the health complex for proper treatment.
