Kings storm into Fed Cup Football semis

Bashundhara Kings stormed into the semi-finals of the Federation Cup Football after defeating Rahmatganj MFS by two goals to nil in their quarter-final match at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj on Tuesday.
Bashundhara led the first half 1-0.
Sohel Rana Sr of Bashundhara Kings put his team ahead by a forceful shot using a pass from his Brazilian teammate Robinho in the 25th minute of the play.
After the lemon-break, Bashundhara’s Nigerian recruit Mfon Udoh doubled the margin by a spectacular shot in the 62nd minute of the match. Mfon got the ball on his way from a through pass of his teammate Robinho.
Rahmatganj got the first chance in the third minute of the match.
Rahmatganj’s Gambian recruit Dawda Ceesay’s power-packed shot was saved by Bashundhara’s custodian Mehedi Hasan.
In the 6th minute, Robinho failed to defeat the Rahmatganj custodian by his shot.
Bashundhara’s Sohel Rana Jr’s shot went over the crosspiece in the 19th minute of the game.
Saad Uddin of Bashundhara’s shot was saved by Rahmatganj custodian at the cost of a corner in the 27th minute of the match.
In the 27th minute of the clash, Bashundhara’s Uzbek recruit Asrar Gofurov struck the ball over the goalbar.
Mfon Udoh hit a ball in the 40th minute but Rahmatganj custodian thwarted the ball. Udoh got the ball from a pass of his teammate Robinho.
Rahmatganj got a free-kick in the 86th minute. But Sushanto Tripura’s shot was gripped by Bashundhara goalie Mehedi Hasan.
Earlier, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited confirmed their semi-final berth on April 2.
Shaikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited will face Police Football Club in the next Federation Cup quarter-final match at the same venue on April 23.
