Bashundhara Kings will take on Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited in the Federation Cup Football final today at the Rafique Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh. The match will kick-off at 3.00pm. Private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live.
Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited are the defending champions of the Federation Cup Football, while Bashundhara Kings are now very spirited as they clinched the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football this year and also the reigning champions of Swadhinata Cup Football.
Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club want to retain their title, while Bashundhara Kings want to win the treble.
Bashundhara Kings emerged as the champions in the Group-C bagging six points from two matches.
They beat Fortis Club by a solitary goal in their first Group-C match and defeated Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra by a solitary goal in their second match of the Group-C.
Later, they blanked Rahmatganj MFS by two goals to nil in their quarter-final match. Bashundhara Kings confirmed their final berth defeating their strong opponent Dhaka Abahani Limited by three goals to nil in the semi-final.
On the other hand, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited became the Group-B champions grabbing maximum nine points from three matches. Mohammedan beat Chittagong Abahani Limited 2-1 in their first Group-B match, defeated Brothers Union in their second Group-B match 2-1 and beat their arch rivals Dhaka Abahani Lmited 2-1 in their third Group-B match. The popular Motijheel-based out-fit edged past Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra 2-1 in the quarter-final and defeated Police Football Club 2-1 in the semi-final to reach the final.
