Main Eid Jamaat on the Nat’l Eidgah at 8:30 am

The main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr will be held at 8:30 a.m. at the National Eidgah on the High Court premises in the capital on Eid day.

However, if this congregation is not possible due to adverse weather or any other unavoidable reason, the jamaat will be held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 9:00 a.m.

Apart from that, a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee will be held today (Tuesday) to fix the date of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims.

This year, a total of 35,000 Muslims will offer Eid prayers at the Eidgah main pandal, while many others will offer prayers outside it, according to a press release on Monday.

Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh will inspect the overall preparations for the Eid jamaat on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.

Khatib of Baitul Mukarram national mosque, Hafez Maulana Mufti Mohammad Ruhul Amin Imam, and Muazzin Quari Habibur Rahman will conduct the main Eid prayers.

However, the National Moon Sighting Committee meeting will be held at 6.30 p.m. at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation (IF) at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque on Tuesday, according to an official release issued on Monday.

Religious Affairs Minister M. Faridul Huq Khan will preside over the meeting.

The meeting will review the information about the sighting of the moon in the month of Shawwal in the Arabic year 1445 and fix the date for the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The Islamic Foundation has requested people to inform the Deputy Commissioner or Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of the concerned district or upazila over the following telephone and fax numbers if they see Shawal month moon anywhere in Bangladesh.
