BPL Cricket: Massive victory for Chattogram Challengers

Chattogram Challengers posted a massive eight-wicket victory over Sylhet Strikers in the 13th match of the Ispahani Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Chasing Sylhet’s total of 137 for the loss of four wicket in the allotted 20 overs, Chattogram sailed home making 138 for the loss of two wickets remaining with 14 balls.

Chattogram had a modest start as opener Avishka Fernando (17) was dismissed by Tanzim Hasan when Chattogram’s score was 23.
After Fernando’s dismissal, opener Tanzid Hasan and Tom Bruce repaired the damage scoring together 89 runs for the second wicket partnership before Tanzid Hasan was bowled out by Harry Tector when Chattogram’s score was 112 for the loss of two wickets.

Tanzid Hasan cracked a marvelous 50. His 40-ball innings was studded with three fours and two sixes.
After Tanzid’s departure, Tom Bruce and Shahadat Hossain guided their team to anchor the victory target.
Tom Bruce remained unbeaten with 51 runs. His 44-ball innings had three fours and two sixes.
Shahadat Hossain remained unbeaten with 13 runs.

Tanzim Hasan and Harry Tector picked up one wicket each for 19 and 21 runs respectively.

Sylhet Strikers had a awful start as opener Mohammad Mithun (1) was bowled out by Bilal Khan when Sylhet’s total was seven.
After Mithun’s dismissal, Najmul Hossain Shanto (5), the other opener of Syhet was trapped leg before wicket by Bilal Khan when Sylhet’s score was eight for the loss of two wickets.

One-down Harry Tector and second-down Zakir Hasan mended the innings contributing together 57 runs for the third wicket partnership before Zakir Hasan was dismissed by Nihaduzzaman when Sylhet’s total was 65 for the loss of three wickets.
Zakir Hasan hit a fine 31. His 26-ball knock had four fours and a sixer.

After Zakir’s dismissal, Tector and Ryan Burl built a notable partnership adding together 42 runs in the fourth wicket stand before Tector was dismissed by Bilal Khan when Sylhet’s score was 107 for the loss of four wickets.

Tector notched up a sparkle 45. His 42-ball innings was belted with two fours and a sixer.

After Tector’s departure, Ryan Burl and Ariful Haque put on together 30 runs for the unbroken fifth wicket partnership before Sylhet’s innings came to an end.

Burl remained unbeaten with 34 runs. He hit four fours in his 29-ball innings.

Bilal Khan grabbed three wickets in the space of 24 runs. Bilal Khan was adjudged the Man of the Match.
Nihaduzzaman took one wicket giving 27 runs.
