News Desk :
The operations of metro rail remained suspended for at least 40 minutes after a kite fell on the power lines.

According to metro rail officials, the service was halted temporarily as a train got stuck before Kazipara station around 1:25pm on Wednesday. Later, the train reached the station after 40 minutes, reports media.

As the kite was stuck on the power line, it resulted in a potential issue with the overhead catenary system (OCS), causing the overhead electric line to experience zero voltage.

Meanwhile, at Mirpur-10 metro rail station, a significant crowd was seen as many people were waiting to use the metro rail services due to Valentine’s Day and Pahela Falgun celebrations. However, security personnel were restricting access to the platform.

Passengers were urged to make alternative arrangements at the metro rail stations. Commuters holding single tickets are being informed through repeated announcements that refunds are available for their purchases.

This is the second time in a month that metro rail operations have been temporarily suspended. On February 4, the operation was suspended for two hours due to technical issues.
