Motorcycles allowed on Padma Bridge after 10 months

Thousands of motorcycles get stuck in a long queue to cross Padma Bridge on Thursday as the government lifted the ban on the vehicles.

The government has given conditional permission to motorcyclists to cross the Padma Bridge ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. Motorcycles are plying on Padma Bridge from today after ten months of hiatus.
Motorcycle movement has started on six conditions from 6 am, Zajira Toll Plaza manager Kamal Hossain confirmed this information to the media.
For the convenience of the Eid Journey, the authorities have arranged a ferry service at Shimulia in Munshiganj and Madbar-Mangal Mazhir Ghat in Shariatpur.
The ferry became empty as soon as the Padma Bridge opened for motorcycle plying after about 10 months. Ferry services were suspended for the first time since the bridge

opened, although the authorities did not announce an official closure.
A motorcyclist named Shafiq Babu said that the government agreed to cross the Padma Bridge on condition, two days ago the ferry service started to operate, but he did not take the ferry to cross the Padma Bridge.
Noted that last year the dream of the people of the southern region was fulfilled by opening the Padma Bridge for all. Following the opening of the bridge, two motorcyclists died in a road accident so the bridge authorities banned the movement of motorcycles on the Padma Bridge due to unruly bikers.
