Man killed as bus rams auto-rickshaw in Noakhali

A driver of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw was killed as a bus rammed into the vehicle at Senbag upazila in Noakhali district on Tuesday afternoon.
Deceased Md Mohi Uddin, 40, hailed from Enayetnagar area of Daganbhuiyan upazila in Feni district.
Senbag Police Station sub-inspector (SI) Sabuj Chandra Pal said a passenger bus coming from opposite direction hit the auto-rickshaw in Tinpukuria area on the Noakhali-Feni road around 4:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot.
Police however seized the bus but its driver and his assistant fled the scene.

Surface water irrigation to produce 23,100 tonnes crops in Barind

BSS : Scopes of producing 23,100 tonnes ofadditional crops through providing surface water irrigation to 3,850 hectaresof land were created in the region, including its vast Barind tract,annually.
