Qatar Charity distributes gas cylinders among Rohingyas

Qatar Charity, an international humanitarian organization, has started distributing gas cylinders with stoves among Rohingya families recently relocated in Bhasan Char, a remote Bay of Bengal island under Noakhali district. This initiative has been taken to meet the energy crisis of 4,562 families initially.
The relief team of Qatar Charity is conducting the distribution activities in the presence of the concerned government officials in Bhasan Char, the organization said in a statement.
Qatar Charity’s Relief Coordinator Tanvir Elahi said food items had already been distributed to the Rohingha families relocated in the island for the three times. Now LPG cylinders distribution activities are going on and the facility would be provided to 4,562 families.
In the past few months, Qatar Charity has distributed essential food items among thousands of Rohingya families in Bahan Char. The food items included rice, pulses, oil, salt, sugar, onion, garlic, ginger, spices, flattened rice, eggs, dried fish and potatoes.
Relief efforts by Qatar Charity have been continued since the beginning of the Rohingya crisis. In addition to emergency aid, free health care and safe drinking water are also being provided at the Rohingya refugee camps in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar.
