24 January 2014 bdnews24.com

It is time to leave the official accommodation for those who have failed to make it to the parliament. MPs, who were not re-elected have been asked to leave their official flats by Jan 30.
A letter was issued on Jan 14 asking the 'old' MPs to vacate the apartments allocated for them (NAM Flat), an official at the Parliament Secretariat said.
Former BNP MP ABM Ashraf Uddin Nizan told bdnews24.com he had received a letter to vacate the apartment on Jan 30. "Our MPs will vacate their houses at the directive of the Parliament Secretariat," he said. Some 150 MPS have been sent letters, an official at the Parliament Secretariat requesting anonymity said. But no letter has been issued to Awami League's MPs from seats reserved for women in the 9th Parliament.
Letters will be sent to those women MPs who fail to get re-elected to the 10th parliament, the official said.
A number of MPs have already applied for 15-day extension to the deadline, he said. The Election Commission published a gazette of 290 MPs on Jan 8 after the Jan 5 polls. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina vacated one out of two seats. As many as 296 MPs took oath in four phases since Jan 9.
