Marcel reports 30pc sales rise


Sales of Marcel brand electronics products has witnessed 30 per cent year-on-year growth, taking advantage of competitive price and product quality, officials said.  
"Marcel brand products have gained confidence among the local customers due to quality and affordable prices. It has helped the company to increase the sales turnover by 30 per cent, claimed Mosharraf Hossain Rajib, chief marketing officer of Marcel.
He said, Marcel is manufacturing products considering the environment of Bangladesh and purchasing capacity of the customers. We are also offering better sales-services to the customers.
Shamim Al Mamun, assistant director of the company, said, sales of Marcel brand refrigerators have increased significantly in this summer, and sales of Marcel brand televisions have already begun to increase ahead of FIFA World Cup, he claimed.
Officials said, Marcel has planned to bring smart television in the market in a bid to expand its market. Due to hot weather in the country, sales of Marcel brand refrigerators have increased several folds. Considering the demand of local customers, it will bring new two models of refrigerators and a model of LED television very soon".
There are about 450 dealers and distributors of Marcel across the country and as part of its expansion program it is now appointing more dealers and distributors across the country, he said.
The ISO certificate (9001: 2008) holder Marcel has a hotline service center where complaints of customers are settled within short time, he claimed.
Market sources said, Marcel has already achieved the second top position in the local refrigerator market.  With a view to superseding all the local brands of refrigerators, Marcel has taken various initiatives including diversification of products and is moving ahead gradually.
It has also set up a product research center in a bid to market products as per of choices and demands of local customers.
Marcel is now marketing different products including refrigerator, television, motorcycle, air-conditioner, generator, DVD player, blender, rice cooker, microwave oven, iron, etc. Some other products are also being included in its product list very soon.
