Call for raising govt`s ability to cut disaster risks24 October 2016
Speakers at a seminar in the city on Sunday called for increasing government's capability along with international cooperation to reduce disaster risks.
Twenty-one local and foreign agencies organized the seminar at CIRDAP auditorium ahead of an Asian minister-level conference on disaster risk reduction to be held in New Delhi in November.
The speakers said
regional cooperation and basis-based river management should be taken into consideration to tackle cross-border migration.
Conducted by Rezaul Karim of Coast Trust, the seminar was attended by Disaster Management and Relief Secretary Shah Kamal as chief guest and Department of Disaster Management Director General Reaz Ahmed as special guest.
