UPDF leader shot dead in Khagrachhari

UPDF central leader Mithun Chakma has been gunned down in Khagracchari's Sadar Upazila.
He was shot in the sluice gate area around 12pm on Wednesday, said Sadar Police Station OC Tarek Mahmud Abdul Hannan.
Locals rushed him to Khagracchari Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Police were deployed in the area after signs of unrest following the murder.
UPDF Information and Publicity Secretary Bijon Chakma told this news agency that Mithun was abducted from his home in Aparna Chowdhury Para on Wednesday morning.
