Muslim countries must include Israeli terrorism for meaningful cooperation
13 September 2014
America has recently decided to wipe out ISIS, the terror organization currently striking terror into the hearts of Syrians, Iraqis, Kurds, and Yazidis alike with their brutal and barbaric methods to destroy the so-called enemies of Islam. Unfortunately ISIS itself originated from al-Qaeda - a group which was once again formed from the core of the mujahedeen - the guerrilla warfare soldiers who were supplied arms and ammunition by the US to fight the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
While it is impossible for one particular state or individual to foresee the full aftermath of an individual or collective action it remains a near certainty that the current terrorist groups operating in the Middle East have
their roots in the warfare of the Mujaheeden soldiers way back in the early 1980s. But the immediate cause is the brutalities committed by the USA and Israel systematically on Muslims.
Although the US coalition has secured support from certain Middle Eastern states like Saudi Arabia and nine other states - its perennial ally, others, including the UK are refusing to give it full support. Even Syria has said that any attack on Syrian territory without its government's permission would be tantamount to an attack on Syria. Turkey has not yet signed up to join the US led coalition.
America must learn that no amount of military advisors or troops or military hardware supplies will help the US wipe out groups like ISIS which are better organised and more dedicated. They are not just aimless fighters thinking of their future in the next world. They are angry people and they have an ideology to follow. They are mostly motivated by the collective anger against unjust polices being pursued against Muslims. America is not grateful to Muslims for their help and cooperation extended to USA all the time.
We are in favour of Muslim countries cooperating with the US to fight terrorism, but it should not have been unconditional. America should be told that terrorism cannot be restrained one sidedly. It can be provoked one sidedly. President Obama is being misled to believe that fire power is sufficient, human and political factors are not important. State terrorism of Israel must be stopped to succeed in discouraging Islamist terrorism.
We shall be frank to express our belief that America will not succeed in destroying ISIS terrorism even with the cooperation of shaky Muslim regional countries. The larger cause of Muslim anger has to be dealt with.
