Bangladesh's fatalities rise to 7,98123 January 2021
Bangladesh's Covid-19 fatalities rose to 7,981 as the country's health authorities recorded 15 more coronavirus-related deaths in 24 hours till Friday morning.
The Covid-19 caseload reached 530,890 with the detection of 619 new cases, said a handout from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Bangladesh reported its first Coronavirus cases on
March 8 and the first death on March 18.
So far, 3,530,274 samples have been tested - 14,924 in the last 24 hours.
The DGHS handout said the daily detection rate was 4.17 percent while the overall rate is 15.04 percent.
Until the morning, 475,561 patients (89.58 percent) have recovered. "The mortality rate is 1.50 percent," the DGHS said.
