Elephant kills farmer in Lohagara

Lohagara, Chattogram :
A farmer named Mohammad Abdul Khalque (55) was killed in a wild elephant attack at Lohagara in Chottagram. The incident took place in Lamba Sheer area in a deep forest in Chunti Union of the upazila on Sunday. He was son of late Omar Ali of Chunti Ashkar Ali Para in the upazila. Local UP member Abdul Mannan Sikder confirmed the matter.
It is learned that farmer Abdul Khalque was guarding his paddy field in the area on Saturday night. He was killed on the spot by a wild elephant at around 10 am the next day morning.
Rafiqul Islam Zaman, in-charge of Chunti police outpost, admitted the truth of the incident and said that a team from Chunti police outpost sent the body to the spot and recovered the body. The body was handed over to the family at the end of the legal process.
