The University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) is going to publish a book titled 'English Literary Works by Michael Madhusudan Dutt' written by Dr Ferdousi Haq, Associate Professor, Department of Bangla, Janagannath University. UGC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the author to publish the book at UGC conference room on Monday (March 6, 2021). Dr. Ferdous Zaman, Secretary (Additional Charge) signed the MoU on behalf of UGC.
In a brief speech at the signing ceremony Ferdous Zaman said that Michael Madhusudan Dutt had a chequered life. The present generation will be able to know many unknown aspects of his life and work through the research book.
Writer of the book Dr. Ferdousi Haq in her speech mentioned that Michael Madhusudan Dutt did all his literary works in English during the first two decades (1839-182) of his literary life. Madhusudan Dutt's talent is rare in any country, in any period of literature. The book has been written with the purpose of making the present generation and literature as patriotic but world-oriented as Madhusudan Dutt.
The event was moderated by Md. Shahin Siraj, Deputy Director, Research Support and Publications Division, UGC.
