 Khasru’s JS seat declared vacant

The Parliament Secretariat has declared Cumilla-5 constituency vacant as lawmaker Abdul Matin Khasru died. A gazette notification signed by Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan, Senior Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat, was issued on Thursday.
It was stated in the notification that the Cumilla-5 constituency fell vacant on April 14 following the death of member of the parliament of the 11th Jaitya Sangsad Abdul Matin Khasru.
As per the constitution, there is compulsion to hold by-elections in the parliamentary seat within 90 days if it falls vacant.
