Eid holiday from Thursday

The  Eid-ul-Fitr holiday is starting from Thursday, with this, Wednesday will be the last working day before Eid.
Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Public Administration Abdullah Shibli Sadiq confirmed the matter to media on Tuesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the ongoing lockdown issued over the coronavirus outbreak situation will remain in force till May 16.

JS goes into budget session on June 2

The Jatiya Sangsad will go into its budget session on June 2.  
President Abdul Hamid has conveyed the budget session exercising the power bestowed upon him as per clause (1) of article 72 of the constitution, said a press release of Jatiya Sangsad secretariat on Tuesday.
The national budget for the fiscal year (FY) 2021-2022 will be placed in the parliament on June 3.

Fire breaks out at Banani building

A fire broke out at a six-storey commercial building in city's Banani area on Tuesday.
The fire originated at the office of Fair Group on the second floor of the building on road 11 around 11:42 am.
On information, four fire fighting units rushed to the scene and put out the flame around 12:55pm , said a source in the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room.
Meanwhile, there was no report of casualties as some 100 employees of the business establishment went to the rooftop and jumped to the adjacent building to save their lives.
