The High Court has granted bail to Fahima Islam Lopa, a suspect in the murder of Juba League leader Riazul Haque Khan Milki. The bench by Justices Naima Haider and Zafar Ahmed granted her six months' bail after a hearing on Sunday.Lopa is the wife of Milki's close associate Maruf Reza Sagor, who was with him at the time of his killing. RAB arrested her from Dhanmondi in Aug 3, last year. She is not among the 11 accused in the murder case. Milki, an organising secretary of the Dhaka Metropolitan (south) unit, died after being shot several times in the head in front of Gulshan's Shopper World on Jul 3. A closed-circuit camera in the shopping mall picked up the entire incident.Lopa was granted bail since she was woman and the police could not file a charge-sheet even after 120 days of her arrest, counsel for the plaintiff BM Ilias told bdnews24.com.RAB had arrested a leader of the Juba League Dhaka Metropolitan (south) unit, Jahid Siddiqui Tarek with injuries from a hospital after Milki was killed. He was also identified as the shooter from the CCTV footage.Tarek later died in an alleged encounter between his supporters and RAB in Khilkhet, while he was being taken to Gulshan Police Station from Uttara.RAB officials said Lopa had told Tarek about Milki's whereabouts, claiming the two were having an affair.Milki's brother Major Rashidul Haque Khan filed a case with the Gulshan police on Tuesday night naming 11, including Tarek, for the murder.
