On the other hand, West Indies lost to England by six wickets in their first Group-1 match on October 23. The Caribbeans suffered an eight-wicket defeat to South Africa in their second match of the Group-1 on October 26. So, West Indies have to win today's match displaying excellent performance.
Before today's match, Bangladesh faced West Indies in 12 Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. Of them, Bangladesh registered five victories, while West Indies posted six victories and one match was abandoned.
Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Mahmudullah Riyad said, " We could not make a good start in our Group-1 campaign.
The wicket was good, but we failed to create notable partnerships. We have no power-hitter, but we have skilled hitters. We don't want to change our style. We believe we can make a good total. We have to revalue our batting strength and make a good plan. If we can execute our plan, I believe we can earn a good result."
Vice-Captain of West Indies Cricket team Nicholas Pooran said, We are still optimistic. We got pain after we were defeated in our first two matches. Bangladesh have good spinners. So, we have to face a challenge tomorrow. We are prepared to face that challenge and we know what we have to do at Sharjah.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin returned to Dhaka due to injury. Rubel Hossain will be the replacement of him.
On the other hand, West Indies have included Jason Holder in their squad in place of injured Obed McCoy.
