Govt job question paper leak Upazila vice-chairman, among 10 held

Within just two minutes of the examination started, the gang leaked the question papers on Friday, but failed to escape arrest. Police arrested 10 members of the gang, including government officials and the upazila vice-chairman, on charge of leaking the question.
DB Additional Commissioner AKM Hafeez Akhter said this at a press conference held at DMP Media Center on Saturday (January 22).
They were arrested from the different areas of the capital's Mirpur and Gulshan. The auditor recruitment test started at 3 pm on Friday in the office of the Auditor General of Defense. The cycle leaked questions from the hall within two minutes of the start of the test.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Noman Siddiqui, Mahmudul Hasan Azad, Al Amin Rony, Nahid Hasan, Shahid Ullah, Tanjir Ahmed, Mahbuba Nasreen Rupa, Raju Ahmed, Hasibul Hasan and Rakibul Hasan. Of them, Mahmudul Hasan Azad once served the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (OCGA), while Mahbuba Nasreen Rupa is the Vice Chairman of Dupchanchia Upazila in Bogra.
At the time of the arrest, six ear devices, six MasterCard mobile SIM holders, five bank checks, seven non-judicial stamps, 10 smart phones, six button mobiles, 18 admission cards and three sets of leaked question papers were seized from their possession.
DB Additional Commissioner AKM Hafeez Akhter said that on the basis of intelligence information, DB police arrested two examinees from New Shaheen Hotel at Kakrail. Based on their information, four persons were arrested from an apartment in Kafrul Senpara Parbat area along with a device, question papers and draft answer sheets.
Another DB police team raided the BG Press High School center and arrested Mahbuba Nasreen Rupa, an examinee and one of the planners, along with cash and a digital device.
The other accused were later arrested on the basis of the information received from Mahbuba Nasreen.
According to DB, the appointment of 550 auditors of the Defense Finance Department of the Office of the Auditor General of Defense, MCQ examination number 70 were picked up on Friday between 3 pm and 4:15 pm at educational institutions in different areas of capital.
Hafiz Akhter further said that the Dhaka Metropolitan DB Police had information that some of the arrested persons at different times have been leaking the question papers in the examination changing the electronic devices, mobile apps and persons and provide answers.
They were arrested on the basis of this information. Members of the arrest gang leaked questions outside the hall within two minutes of the start of the test, he added.
