CCCI presents budget proposals to NBR Chair

President of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) Mahbubul Alam gave a bunch of budget proposals to Abu Hena Rahmatul Munim, Secretary of the Department of Internal Resources and Chairman of the National Board of Revenue.
These proposals were presented at the Bangabandhu Conference Hall of the World Trade Center in Agrabad yesterday (March 20) morning at the pre-budget exchange meeting for the fiscal year 2022-23.
The president of the chamber said that on February 26, the chamber had sent 84 proposals on tariffs, 22 proposals on VAT and 102 proposals on income tax to the NBR.
The president of the chamber proposed to increase the income tax limit from Tk 3 lakh to Tk 4 lakh and increase the limit for women and taxpayers above 65 years to Rs 4.5 lakh.
He proposed to reduce the tax rate of non-publicly traded companies by 2.5 per cent to 26.5 per cent, to fix the tax rate of publicly traded companies to 20 per cent, to increase the net assets in surcharge by Tk 2 crore to Tk 5 crore.
