CCC launches program to separate waste from sources

Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) has launched a program to separate waste from sources. By adopting the pilot project of the 6th customs ward of the city, decomposable and indigestible waste is being collected separately from the house. However, the concerned people think that it will be difficult to separate the garbage as there are no cleaners of the city corporation in all the residential areas.
The guidelines for segregation of waste from sources include wet waste, kitchen waste, vegetables, fruit peelings, cooked food scraps, egg shells, fish scales, used tissue paper, garden waste such as fallen leaves, flowers used in ceremonies, weeds.
