Human chain held over attack on CU students

Students of the Department of Zoology of Chittagong University (CU) held a human chain protesting attack on the students of the university, including Divya Bhattacharya, a student of the Department of Zoology of the 2014-15 academic session. The human chain was held on Sunday at 12:30pm in front of the Shaheed Minar of the university.
Students of different departments of the university were present and spoke at the human chain. From the human chain, the students demanded safe campus. They handed over a memorandum to the university’s Vice Chancellor, proctor, student adviser and president of the zoology department, demanding punishment for those who involved in the attack and a safe campus at the end of the human chain.
On April 14, a student and CNG driver made argument for CNG fare. At one stage, CNG driver beat the student.
After the incident, CNG driver and local people gathered and attacked the university students around 5:00pm at rail crossing area. At least, four students were injured in the attack.
