Passenger detained with 3 kg gold at Ctg Airport

Chattogram Bureau :
At Chattogram  Shah Amanat International Airport, 26 gold bars were recovered from a passenger on a BG-137 flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from Jeddah. The gold  weight of 3 kg 300 g is worth about two and a half crore takas.
Deputy Commissioner of Customs confirmed the matter to media  on Sunday (May 29) at noon.
He said that during the scanning, a metal object was found in the luggage of the passenger. He was then searched in the challenge luggage and found the gold bars hidden inside the charger light, torch and iron.
The case is being processed under the Customs Act of 1989 and other applicable laws.
