Contraband cigars of  Tk1.10cr seized in Shah Amanat Airport

Chattogram  Customs House officials seized 14 lakh 52,400 sticks of foreign cigarettes worth Tk 1 crore 10 lakh at Shah Amanat International Airport in the port city.  The cigarettes arrived on Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ BG-148 flight on Tuesday.
Airport Customs Deputy Commissioner Niyamul Hasan said there were secret reports that goods with import conditions could arrive on the flight. So, the customs officers started combing the cargo warehouse at the airport. At this time, the existence of suspicious products was found in various cartons. Later, these cartons were cut and 6,262 mini cartons (14,52,400 sticks) of Super Slim Easy Special Golf, Easy Special Light, Mond Strawberry Flavor, Benson Light brand were found.
Its estimated market value is 1 crore 10 lakh taka, according to the customs.
