Four members of organised gang of HSIA held in city03 October 2022

An organised gang robbed more than 300 expatriates arriving at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the last 15 years. RAB arrested four people including the mastermind of this circle Amir Hossain. At this time, various materials
were recovered from them.
RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moin gave this information in a press conference organized at RAB Media Center in the capital's Kawran Bazar on Sunday noon (October 2).
The others arrested have been identified as Liton Mia alias Milton (48), Abu Bakr Siddique alias Parvez (35) and Zakir Hussain (40).
Mobiles, sedation equipment, luggage used to impersonate passengers and stolen gold were recovered from them.
Commander Moin said, the members of the Agyan Party target ordinary passengers at the airport, railway station, bus stand, bank quarters where customers coming to the bank.
The gang robbed more than 300 expatriates arriving at the airport by tricking them into unconsciousness. There are more than 15 cases against this gang.
On September 2, an expatriate arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from Kuwait. He was targeted by these agyan party members.
On the way from Dhaka to Bogra, the gang knocked the expatriate unconscious and robbed him of all his belongings. In this incident, the expatriate victim filed a case with the Uttara West Police Station on September 6 as the plaintiff. Case number is 12. In view of the case, RAB intelligence increases surveillance.
A team of RAB-1 arrested Amir and his associates last Saturday night after collecting CCTV footage from various places of the capital including the airport based on information from eyewitnesses.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested persons are active members of organized Agyna Party gang. The number of members of this circle is about 8-10 people. For the past 15 years, they have been impersonating returnees with passports and luggage at airport terminals to target people coming from abroad under the guise of various professions. This is basically their strategy, RAB officials added.
