Ultimatum to stop dialysis services at CMCH
18 October 2022
Chattogram Bureau :
Due to non-payment of dues from the government, the service providers have given an ultimatum to the National Kidney Institute of Dhaka and Chattogram Medical College (CMC) hospitals simultaneously
to stop kidney dialysis services. The company said in writing that this service can be stopped at any time after October 17 or 18. It should be noted that the Indian organisation Sandor Medicaids (Pvt) Ltd has set up two kidney dialysis centers in Dhaka's National Kidney Institute and CMC Hospital under Public-Private Partnership (PPP).
Among them, 59 dialysis machines are being provided at National Kidney Institute of Dhaka and 31 machines at CMC Hospital. This dialysis center is set up on the ground floor (next to the Fair Price Drug Store) of the old (main) building of CMC Hospital.
In 2017, dialysis services were launched at this center. However, the institution has given an ultimatum to stop dialysis services in Dhaka and Chittagong simultaneously, claiming that it owes Tk22 crore to the government, CMC sources said.
