Tk 20 lakh looted in guise of police

An incident of snatching of Tk 20 lakh has been occurred in broad daylight at Araihazaar of Narayanganj under the identity of a law enforcement officer. The incident took place at Dakshinpara area of the upazila around 1 pm on Thursday.
The victim has been identified as Sabbir Hossain. He is a representative of Agent Banking.
It is reported that after withdrawing the money from Islami Bank, Sabbir left the Dakshinpara branch on a motorcycle towards the main branch. At that time, a group of four or five members in a private car blocked his way. They identified themselves as law enforcement officers and arrested Sabbir and handcuffed him and took him to a car along with the money.
Shortly after the incident, Sabbir was beaten and dumped in Satgram
area of the upazila. The miscreants then left with the money.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Araihazar Police Station Azizul Haque Howladar said, "We have sent a police team to the spot after getting the information. The victim was rescued and sent to the hospital. Details will be given later.
