Special Drive: 255 held in capital in 24 hours

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 285 people in the last 24 hours that ended on Wednesday evening(Dec 7) during their ongoing special drive in the capital.
In this operation that started on Thursday (December 1), 1,554 people were arrested in Dhaka alone till Tuesday (December 6).
DMP Media Center's Deputy Commissioner Faruk Hossain confirmed the matter on Wednesday.
He said that the 15-day drive that started on December 1 is being carried out to ensure safe and undisturbed celebrations of Victory Day, Christmas, and New Year's Eve.
In the past 24 hours as well, Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested 255 people.
Earlier on Tuesday, police claimed that  around 5,000 people had been arrested across the country until Tuesday during the 15-day countrywide special manhunt, according to the sources at the police headquarters and the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
considering the context of snatching two sentenced militant accused from police custody in Dhaka CMM court area on November 20, the police headquarters ordered to conduct a special drive from December 1 to 15.
