Shahnaz Khushi returns to theatre play after 20yrs

Popular face of the small screen, noted actress Shahnaz Khushi started her
acting career as a theatre artiste.
Khushi used to perform on the stage regularly as a member of theatre groups, Aranyak Natyadal and Prachyanat.
She last performed on stage in Prachyanat’s play titled 'Circus.' This time, after a break of 20 years, Shahnaz Khushi has returned to the theatre play. She performed in the play 'Neel Darpan' in Kolkata’s Tapan Theatre on December 7. She played a vital role in that play.
The actress herself confirmed the news. While sharing her feelings in
this regard, Shahnaz Khushi said, “It was really a great pleasure and also a joyful matter to me that I returned to the stage after 20 years. I performed on the stage in the play titled 'Neel Darpan'
on December 7 in Kolkata. Bongo Natyasonghoti is organising the theatre festival commemorating the first
commercial staging of a Bengali play.”
Shahnaz Khushi also said that on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Bengali play, the production on 'Neel Darpan' was directed by eminent Bangladeshi playwright and director Mamunur Rashid. The play was
produced by Bangla Theatre.
Basically Dinbandu Mitra’s 'Neel Darpan' was staged in Kolkata celebrating the 150th anniversary of Bengali commercial theatre. 'Neel Darpan' was the first Bengali theatre which was staged in Kolkata in 1872.
Dinabandhu Mitra wrote the play 'Neel Darpan' in the context of social
agitation in Bengal, known as the Indigo Revolt. It was the first commercial production of Nation Theatre group, staged in 1872 and directed by Girish Chandra Ghosh.
