Singers Sohan, Rupsa, Himadri, Talbida and Shakib rendered songs in 37
languages at a river cruise event. Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy organised the event for foreign delegates as a part of the ongoing 19th Asian Art Biennale. They rendered songs in 37 languages include Bangladesh, USA, Bhutan, Nepal, India, Afghanistan, Morocco, Italy, Turkey, Germany and other countries. The songs featured traditional, patriotic and modern songs of these countries selected by Yasmin Ali. The five singers were accompanied by Yasmin Ali, Suchitra, Ishita, Rafi, Mehek and Roushon.
While talking about performing songs in 37 languages in the event, singer Rupsa said, “I am a senior artiste of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA). I perform music in various events organised by the BSA. As usual, I have rendered songs at the 19th Asian Art Biennial. I am very proud and happy that I could get the opportunity to render songs in such an event. The joy of being able to render song in the mother language as well as in the languages of different countries of the world cannot be expressed
in words.”
Another singer Talbida said, “While rendering songs I have realised that except for the Bengali language, languages of all other countries are
actually very difficult.”
