Sheikh Russel reach Fed Cup quarter-final

Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra reached the quarter-final of the Federation Cup Football when they defeated Bangladesh Police Football Club by a solitary goal in the group C match held on Tuesday at  the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed  Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
The group C of Federation cup consists of three teams. Bangladesh Police FC was out of the Federation Cup after losing their group two matches. Sheikh Russel KC and Abahani Limited Dhaka confirmed the quarter-finals spot by playing one match with three points. The last match of the group C between Abahani Limited Dhaka and Sheikh Russel KC will be held on May 2 at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj to decide the group champions.
After the barren first half, Nihat Jamal Ucchash finally broke the deadlock scoring the all-important goal for Sheikh Russel KC in the 77th minute of the match.
Bangladesh Police FC however tried heart and soul to stage a fight back in the match, but could not convert any in the remaining proceeding and eventually they had to leave the field with empty hand.
Earlier, Bangladesh Police FC suffered a lone goal defeat to Abahani Limited Dhaka in their group C opening match.
