Blast at Dhaka’s Moghbazar leaves 4 injured

At least four people were injured when a garbage drum exploded in front of a medicine shop in the city's Moghbazar area on Tuesday (Jan 24) morning. The incident occurred around 9:45am.
The injured persons have been identified as Saiful Islam, 36, Tarek, 20, Shahin, 30, and Abul Kalam, 25. They are currently undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
According to injured Saiful Islam, a loud explosion happened near a restaurant in Wireless Gate area while he was going to his office in Moghbazar from his Sabujbagh residence.
He said, "I fell on the road and saw blood in different parts of my body."
The Ramna Model Police Station OC, Abul Hasan, confirmed the matter to the media. He said, "We heard about the explosion in front of a medicine shop in Moghbazar, but yet to confirm what was inside the drum."
Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner of Police (DB Chief) Mohammad Haron Or Rashid said that numerous splinters had been recovered from the blast site.
He said these when he came to the scene on Tuesday.
