Raju arrested over Ekushey Padak journo murder case

Anti Terrorism Unit (ATU) of police arrested a fugitive death-row convict in photojournalist Aftab Ahmed murder case.
Raju Munshi, 25, was arrested from Phulbari upazila of Dinajpur district on Wednesday.
On Thursday, MM Hasanul Jahid, Special Superintendent of ATU (Intelligence wing) confirmed the matter to the media and said that Raju had been hiding for about nine years under different guises. He had also tried to flee the country.
The 79-year-old photojournalist was killed at his residence in Dhaka's West Rampura on December 25, 2013.
A tribunal in Dhaka on March 28, 2017 sentenced five killers, Humayun Kabir, the driver of Aftab's car, Billal Hossain, Habib Howlader, Raju Munshi and Rassel to death.
The High Court also upheld the lower court verdict on 12 October 2022.
