2 drug peddlers with 1,791 cans beer detained in Port City

RAB-7 arrested two drug dealers along with 1 thousand 791 cans of beer in Charpara Ghat area of Patenga police station of the Port City. At this time, a speedboat and a private car used for transporting drugs were seized.
RAB-7 Assistant Director Nurul Abshar gave this information on Tuesday (January 31) at noon. The arrested are the son of deceased Sayedul Haque of Hatia police station in Noakhali district. Ruhul Amin (31) and son of deceased Babul Haque of Vijaynagar area of Patenga police station of the city, and Nizam Uddin (26).
Nurul Abshar said that the drug dealers were bringing drugs by sea in a speedboat and transferring them to a private car in the Charpara Ghat area for the purpose of selling beer.
On the basis of such confidential information, a raid was conducted in the area on Monday around 5:30am. Sensing the presence of RAB, the drivers of the speedboat and private car tried to flee and were apprehended. During the search, 1 thousand 791 cans of beer were recovered from speedboats and private cars inside 15 white plastic bags.
Speedboats and private cars used to transport drugs have been seized.
He also said that the detainees used to collect liquor and beer banned from Myanmar by sea for a long time through smuggling and sell it to various drug dealers and users at high prices.
They have been handed over to the respective police stations for further legal action.
