DITF- 2023 ends with $39.48m export orders

The month-long 27th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) came to an end yesterday, bagging export orders worth Tk 300 crore or USD 39.48 million, which is more than double the previous year.
Goods worth Tk 100 crore were sold at the Dhaka Trade fair, said, the Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, at the closing ceremony of the fair on Tuesday.
The minister also said that the number of visitors was around 30-35 lakh.
At the closing ceremony of the fair, the Textile and Jute Minister Golam Dostagir Gazi was invited as the chief guest at the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal.
Tipu Munshi, the Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, was present at the ceremony as the special guest. 'In the Fiscal Year of 2022-2023, the targeted export earnings are USD 67 Billion. After the seven months of this FY, we are expecting that the target will be fulfilled.'' Commerce Minister added.
Earlier, The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was inaugurated the month-long DITF-2023 on the first January.
This 27th edition of the DITF was featured some 351 local and foreign stalls, pavilions and mini pavilions, up from the previous year's tally of 225 .Of them,17 organizations from 10 countries including Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, Turkey, Pakistan, Malaysia, Nepal and India alongside local firms and companies are taking part in it.
In the closing ceremony of the DITF- 2023, the best pavilions, stalls and institutions participating in various categories were recognized by awarding trophies. The first prize was given to 10 best pavilions and stalls in different categories, the second prize were given to 13 pavilions and stalls while the third prize was given to 11 pavilions and stalls.
