Moeen set to skip PSL for BD tour03 February 2023
England's white-ball vice-captain Moeen Ali will not participate in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) for national duties.
According to a report by Mirror, the all-rounder opted to prioritize his country and will be available for the Bangladesh tour, which includes three ODIs and three T20Is.
After playing 36 games across three formats last year, including the T20 World Cup in Australia and the ODI series in South Africa, Moeen aims to take a brief break before resuming his role in the England cricket team.
On the other hand, Alex Hales, another England teammate, has chosen to stay committed to his £145,000 contract with Islamabad United and will miss the Bangladesh tour.
Big names like Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone will remain on the sidelines through injury, while many other players won't be available due to the PSL, which clashes with the tour.
England's selectors are expected to name the squad this week for the tour, which starts on March 1.
