Prisoner dies after being sent to Pabna jail

A prisoner in Pabna jail, who was on trial in a robbery case, died of cardiac arrest on Friday night, jail officials said.
Ziaur Rahman Zia, 35, of Zatrapur village in Atghoria upazila of the district, was arrested and sent to jail on January 21 in a robbery case.
Pabna Jail Super Md Nasir Uddin said Ziaur was suffering from heart disease before he was sent to jail but did not inform them of the matter.
On Friday night, he fell sick and as his situation deteriorated, he was taken to the 250-bed Pabna General Hospital where he died around 10:00pm, the jail superintendent said.
His body was handed over to his family on Saturday after completing an autopsy, he added.
