Three Juba Dal leaders expelled for attack on journalists

Jatiytabadi Jubo Dal has expelled three of its leaders in connection with the attack on journalists at an iftar party arranged by BNP at city's Pallabi.
Juba Dal's Ward No. 6 unit of Pallabi Thana joint general secretary Md. Ismail Hossain, joint secretary of Rupnagar Thana Md. Asif , and former vice president of Pallabi Thana Jewel Khan have been expelled from the organization for their involvement in anti-organizational activities and creating chaos, said a press release issued by the organization on Saturday.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed deep sorrow over the incident.
The decision to expel the three leaders of Juba Dal was taken by its President Sultan Salauddin Tuku and acting general secretary Shafiqul Islam Milton.
BNP's Pallabi and Rupnagar thana units under Dhaka South city arranged an iftar party at a community centre in the city's Mirpur-2 area on Friday.
Some BNP leaders and activists locked into an altercation at the venue with journalists who went there to cover the iftar programme.
At one stage, they attacked journalists, leaving some media workers, including NTV special correspondent Imrul Ahsan Jony, Desh TV cameraperson Ujjal and News24 cameraperson Ajnabi, injured.
