5-day Eid vacation begins from today

People from different walks of life have started their journey to their respective homes across the country as a five-day vacation on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr begins from today (Wednesday).
Eid is likely to be celebrated on April 22 or 23 based on the appearance of the Moon.
However, the government employees will get five days Eid vacation starting from April 19 to April 23 as the government has declared April 20 as a public holiday through executive order.
Meanwhile, the government has already prepared a public holiday list by fixing April 22 as the holy Eid-ul-Fitr where the holy month of Ramzan is likely to be ended by 29 days.
It is apprehended that the public holiday likely to be extend one more day on April 24 if the Ramzan ended by 30 days.  Consequently, the government employees then will enjoy six days Eid vacation till April 24.
Meanwhile, after the public holiday due to Shab-e-Qadr on April 19, the government has declared April 20 as the general holiday which was announced by the Ministry of Public Administration through a gazette notification issued on April 10.
After the Eid-ul-Fitr, the office time of all the government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous organizations will begin from 9:00am to 4:00pm, said the official handout.
Many employees of the Bangladesh Secretariat on Tuesday were seen to leave their offices after Zohr prayers to their village homes.
As a result, most of the offices have become empty just after Johr prayers as many employees have sent their family members to their respective village homes earlier to avoid hassle as the heat wave prevailing in the country.
