‘Nazrul anthem across the world’

Nazrul singer and exponent Ferdous Ara presenting keynote paper in seminar at Nazrul Institute


Under the moderation of noted Nazrul singer and exponent and founder director of Surshaptak, Ferdous Ara a seminar titled ‘Nazrul anthem across the world’ was held at the seminar room of the Nazrul Institute in the city’s Bananai area on Tuesday evening.
Noted Nazrul exponent Prof Dr Rafiqul Islam; noted Nazrul researcher, music composer and exponent Sudhin Das; Dr Rafiqul Mohamed; Dr Kazi Gulshan Ara of Taranga of USA; Kazi Belal Ahmed; Arif Iqbal; Salma Bani and poet Muhammad Nurul Huda took part in discussion on creations and activities of Kazi Nazrul Islam in the seminar organised by Surshaptak.
In the discussion, speakers presented present position of Nazrul songs in and outside the country. In the seminar, Ferdous Ara presented the key-note paper.
On behalf of new generation, Fahmi Ferdous presented a paper on the occasion. During the presentation Nazrul songs were rendered by Ferdous Ara.
Basically with the initiative taken by Ferdous Ara the seminar was organised.
While talking about in this regard, Ferdous Ara told this correspondent, “I think due to lack of publicity of Nazrul songs in media it can’t be established and reached across the people of the world. I also think that if the satellite channels come forward to broadcast Nazrul songs, these songs can be established properly in the world. As a result, our National Poet will get more honour.”   
On the other hand, on Wednesday Ferdous Ara took part in shooting of a music video of a patriotic song outside the capital, which will go on air on Channel i on March 26 on the occasion of upcoming Independence Day, Ferdous Ara said.  
For the development of Nazrul songs in the country Ferdous Ara gives time to her music institution, Surshaptak every Friday, she said.
