Jessore Bibhag Andolon Parishad
Different organisations including Jessore Bibhag Andolon Parishad and Greater Jessore Society organised a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity on Wednesday. In the conference the speakers demanded to declare Jessore as division. Leaders of these  organisations also urged the government not to include Magura district in the proposed Faridpur division. General Secretary of Greater Jessore Society Kazi Rafiqul Islam read out a written speech. He said the districts of Jessore, Narail, Magura and Jhenidah fall in greater Jessore. There are already many divisional offices in Jessore, he added. The programme was attended, among others, by Jamal Uddin Ahmed, Engineer Abdus Sattar and Bhabotosh Mukherjee.
DU Photographic Society
The 8th annual photography exhibition organised by Dhaka University Photographic Society (DUPS) held at Drik Gallery in the city's Dhanmondi. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the exhibition titled 'Exploring the Imagination'. Some 64 solo photographs and five 'photo-story' of DUPS were exhibited in the exhibition. A total of 13 among the solo photographs were snapped in India.
CHS Support Group
Bangla version of Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS)  which has developed in Bangladesh through a yearlong participatory process and field trail has been lunched in a seminar title " Accountability and Quality Management in Humanitarian Actions : Bangladesh Perspective" held in BRAC centre yesterday .  The seminar was organised by CHS Support Group and United Nations in Bangladesh with the support of host of national and international NGOs including ActionAid, BRAC, CARE, Christian Aid, CARITAS, COAST, Concern Worldwide, DCA, Disaster Forum, DSK, Red Cross and Red Crescent, Islamic Relief, Muslim Aid, NIRAPOD, Oxfam, Plan International, Practical Action, Save the Children, Tearfund, IoM, and World Vision. The seminar was moderated by Rezaul Karim Chowdhury of COAST,  Dhirendra Debnath Shambu MP Chairman Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief  was there as Chief Guest.
