Fire kills one in Chittagong

BSS, Chittagong :A youth was killed in a devastating fire in the city's Akbar Shah area on Tuesday night.The deceased was identified as Mohammad Rubel, 25.Fire service and Civil Defense sources said the fire, broke out at a house at Firoz Shah Colony at around 2.50am, instantly spread to the surrounding houses.On information, fire fighters rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire at around 4.30am and recovered the body of Rubel from a house.Seven dwelling houses and a grocery shop were gutted in the fire, the sources said adding that the blaze destroyed valuables worth about TK seven lakh.
