More empowerment to Ctg- based govt offices demanded by CCCI

City Mayor M Monzoor Alam inaugurated the ticket counter and passenger shed of BRTC bus at Muradpur in Chittagong yesterday.

President of Chittasgong Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mahbubul Alam demanded more empowerment of the Chittagong based govt offices to help facilitate the functioning of the proposed commercial capital of the country. He proposed it to the newly assigned Commerce Minister Tofayel Ahmed while paying courtesy call at Minister's office in Dhaka onJanuary 21 last. During the meetamong others, FBCCI President Kazi Akramuddin , BCI President AK Azad, former FBCCI leaders Salman F Rahman, Syed Manzoor Elahi were present. Later CCCI President also attended the views exchaing meeting held with the business leaders at a posh hotel in Dhaka. CCCI chief emphasized the need for uninterrupted gas  and power supply to the industrial enterprises in Chittagong. He also proposed for up gradation of Imports and Exports Controller office, Registrar of Joint stock company and Export Promotion Bureau office in Chittagong. CCCI chief further proposed to include the CCCI leaders in the govt trade teams . Commerce Minister has been invited to grace the inaugural ceremony of the 22nd Ctg Internationa Trade Fair-2014 next month, CCCI sources said.
